I was visiting Brene Brown's site today and I found this image that was available as a download for your desktop. I quickly downloaded it and personalized my home screen with it... and I had to share it with you as well.
Because this... this is a powerful statement.
This weekend was the start of JULY! How did that happen?
And while we here in Nova Scotia celebrated Canada Day, and all of my friends and neighbors in the states are looking forward to July 4th... the truth is we all know that summer has officially arrived.
And with that, we start making plans for beach days, holidays, playdays, sunbathing days, parkdates, picnics...
We get our long sheets of paper out and start with the lists... the agendas out to figure out how to fit it all in, around our businesses, our work and our children's routine so they have stability.
We feel the summer start to slip away and it's not even begun.
And that very feeling, is what I want to discuss with you today.
I read the other day a very poignant post that someone had written.
It said "We have approximately 18 summers to enjoy with our children. Make this one count."
But as my children grow older, I happen to know this hits too close to home.
So, today my quest, my Summer mission, is to offer you some tools and opportunities that will help you drop the To-Do list, Stop in your tracks... Rest your mind, Nurture your Spirit and Play... with your children and your own inner self.
1) I encourage you (and me, actually) to give yourself permission to do LESS.
No, you don't have to do that one last load of laundry.
Yes, you can do without that item you forgot to pick up from the store.
Yes, email, social media, and other things we have to "check"... will still be there in a bit.
Breathe deep and appreciate the world around you. Allow yourself to find wonder and take cues from your children. Fireflies are miracles. Bird choirs are angelic. The way the sun shines through the trees, creating that special hue of yellowish green... that just might be Spirit's way of telling you something... so stop. Look. And ...
3) Let the feeling of RELAXATION, find your body, your mind and your spirit.
You are an energy being, and we all can store energy blocks of tension through our body. Allow your body to relax into the sand, the hammock or simply a sofa. Allow the sun to nourish you, the breeze to caress you.
4) Feel Loved... and love.
My first meditation I offered on Monday was about Allowing yourself to feel Loved... and then allowing love to flow from you as well. We often focus on generating love... but can forget that love is consistently flowing to us... always. (You can actually watch that meditation video and class on my Youtube channel)
When we remind ourselves to feel LOVED, we release negative notions of separation or unworthiness. We begin to feel taken care of, and in feeling that... indeed we allow ourselves to be so.
I also wanted to make sure that you were aware of what I'm offering this summer as a way for you to find that feeling of Rest, Play and Relief.
My Energy Sessions now have a home on the website.
I’ve made it so you can book when you need one… just like you would book a massage, haircut or chiropractor.
What do you get with one of these sessions?
Well, you get an energy healing session, which is where I use my training in energy work to clear out any blocks or tension you have, that gives resistance to your Truest Self from shining bright.
My clients usually find themselves more present, lighter, calmer, more focused, and aligned to themselves for a while afterwards.
The other half of our time together, I offer you some tools, based on what I pick up on and what we discuss, to create more relaxation, joy and fun in your life and in your parenting.
After our time, I then set an energy crystal grid for you, to offer you energy on “trickle” charge over a 24 hour period. They work wonders.
These sessions are perfect if you can't drop into time to enjoy life.
If life feels like a struggle, or difficult... or if you feel tension rising and it easy to fall into a space of getting stressed and worked up about your children or schedule.
These sessions are designed to dive deep, release the blocks and set you free to play, have fun and relax with your family.
You can learn more about these sessions here.
Life is supposed to be joyful.
It's supposed to be easy and to flow effortlessly downstream. We can all get bogged down in the To-dos and routines of it all.
But summertime is a beautiful time to reclaim our spiritual spaces and release some of our pressure, some of the beliefs that hold us back from the light we were made to shine.
And when we release them... well then maybe we'll be able to make the 18 summers... count.
Love and light everyone!
Write something about yourself. No need to be fancy, just an overview.
