Learning to have more flow in your life

My daughter was talking to me this about a costume she was planning on making.
“The Universe is weird…” she started.
“I asked your pendulum about which costume I should make, and it picked this one. Then, when I was shopping for the pieces it felt stressful, so it seemed upstream and against the flow, so I stopped and waited for a solution. Someone just gifted me the tights I needed for it, so it’s led me to all these other choices which are so much easier.”
She then added that all week she’s felt like she was being told to just relax and let things flow in, even though the initial costume would take hours of work.
 By following her intuition and listening to flow she can relax because the costume is almost done without effort.
It makes me so happy to hear my children discuss flow and listening to the universe.
I love how they know things don’t need to be hard, but can flow effortlessly when you listen to inner guidance and that still small voice within.
It wasn’t always that way.
Often they have pushed against that flow and fought for what they thought they wanted… only to discover it didn’t really work out as they wanted. (But then haven't we all!)


There’s a fine balance between going with the flow and just not setting intentions and dreams.
It’s important to listen to what you think you want, to tune into your own inner calling, your heart’s desire, and then to playfully practice the feeling it offers you.
But, it’s amazing how often humans love to make the goal the thing, and in that they are so focused on what they want, that the energy goes towards the feeling of NOT HAVING IT, so chaos follows.
Co-creation with the universe is a magical, intuitive and natural state of being.
So, with that in mind,
Where do you need more flow in your life?
Are there areas in life that you find yourself pushing for what you think needs to happen?
Perhaps you feel a tightness in your body suggesting that you are pushing too hard.

We can all fall into the trappings of going against the flow.

We’re in November, heading into December and a Holiday Season for most of us.
Ironically, the term Holiday suggests “time off”, but over the years I’ve noticed that December is a time where Shoulds and Pressure hit a high.
Pushing for pleasing other people, for fulfilling expectations and trying to be the perfect parent.

I’m mentioning this now, because I want to encourage you to start practising FLOW and listening now, so you will be in the zone of spiritual awareness when life gets extra busy.
How do you tap into Flow:
  • Look for a moment or two where you can practice silence. Focus on nature, or listen to your heart. Let yourself be guided.
  • Focus on your breath. Let your mind shift to your heart.
  • Visualise. Imagine. Play. It’s important to feel into what you really want, and how you would like that experience to feel.
  • Love. Let yourself fill with love and appreciation for what is right in front of you.


Listen to your heart. Trust in the flow. The universe supports you like a river holds you afloat.
Relax and allow yourself to flow downstream in the direction of all your dreams and desires.

At the same time, know you are not alone.
Breathe deep, go to your heart and let her unfold in joy, love and trust.
