![]() Living Inside Out. Allowing. Knowing. Intending. Connecting. To live inside out means you tune in before reacting. You shift focus before stress overtakes you. You breathe deep and find inner resilience, before trying to push to make something right. To live inside out means you trust your inner world over the outer. You know that your higher self, Universe, God, Goddess, Spiritual connection has your back and it's really about letting it in, allowing the solutions to flow. We can all shift back to living Outside In. We can focus on a problem until we're blue in the face. We can get out the pros and cons list, intellectually weighing up the Hows of it all... the What Ifs... the What could go wrongs. But, there's this innate relief that happens when you simply pull in the oars and... float. A Space is created, a space for the universe to provide. When we're banging our heads on a problem there's literally NO ROOM for a solution to flow in. And yet, knowing that... knowing that we have to let solutions in, knowing that we have to “reprogram” our brain to let go of resistant thoughts and practice mindful Being... can easily turn into knowing we need to live inside out, but looking in through a window. The lens of intellectualizing Spiritual practice and mindfulness is a bit like putting our hearts and spirits under a microscope and asking... am I at peace yet? Living inside out, says live the inner peace, let it flow over you, and you won't have to look to see if you are there. We're a thoughtful bunch of people in this world. We think out everything. We think about the experiences so much that we forget to live the experience.
But when you consider our conscious brains only uses a portion of our thinking power and that our subconscious brains and energetic systems are so much more productive... it's really time to shift our attention to our heart center and stop over compensating what we can't stop to feel. But how... if every time we “try” to go inward, we get caught up in our thoughts which is overlooking our processes and weighing it up with a “are you calm yet?” - Deep breathing is a start; inhaling through the nose and exhaling through the mouth sparks a feeling of presence and awareness within you. It literally connects you to a wider perspective and sense of inner peace. - Practicing BEING, rather than Doing. Finding the space between thoughts and lists. - Playing with your senses, enjoying experience. Appreciating each taste, smell, touch. - Practicing Gratitude... being thankful for the here and now, for what's working. Here's a guide to some other quick processes to finding inner calm in a crunch. I know. Parenting is busy. In fact, as parents we are taught to live outside ourselves most of all. We can easily fall into the rhythm of running around, completing tasks, fulfilling routines. We can even put so much attention on the story of our kids, we go to connect within and find the noise in our minds is just too loud to drop. I remember that feeling well. There was always something else to do. But I want to invite you to stand at the sink doing dishes... or at the window just before you crawl into bed. Breathe deeply. Inhale through the nose, Exhale through the mouth, and in doing so feel love and support flow over you, through you, cascading down you, through the soles of your feet. Allow yourself to feel refuelled, supported and grounded... from the inside out. And suddenly, self care isn't about pushing to find time for yourself anymore, raging against the time limits of outer living. From this space, connecting with your children flows like a stream, you connect with them from a heart centered space and, as they are heart focused, the fusion of energy is present and powerful. A child picks up on a present parent. When life is a meltdown, a parent grounded in their inner world acts like the calm in the storm. It provides an energy of security, stability and depth that a child recognizes. And it all starts with knowing that loving yourself, and allowing yourself to feel loved, to feel better, creates a ripple effect that makes life easier, more joyful, more connected, more flowing... Heart Centered refueling... that is eternally giving.
