Last year, just before New Years 2019, I offered a workshop on setting Intention for the New Year.
I was passionate about helping parents dive deep into their desires, tune into how they want to feel, and set that as a goal and anchor for their year.
And I still am.
Some of the desired feelings and intentions participants set were:
Focused. Joy. Presence Healed
Whole, Self Confidence
Throughout the experience I then encouraged participants to imagine how that feeling felt, and what that looked like in December.
From the position of January, that felt so light, easy and fun.... it was hopeful and intentional.
And here we are headed into September.
While some parents are dancing with their intended feelings, others have come to me saying they lost the plot. That they lost sight of where they wanted to go and got stuck in running the hamster wheel of where they are.
No harm done, I always say.
You can always line up.
You've just been getting a clearer idea of what you want, based on what you don't want.
You can always line up with intention. It's waiting for you.
There's just enough time to put some things in practice, release some resistance and open up to the person you want to be... before the holiday season.
I know why talk about Holiday Seasons now... (and as I write this my husband started to sing Winter Wonderland for some reason. Maybe a way to cool down in Spain.)
But let's face it. Its an old pattern to hit November, remember the intentions from January and try to rush it together along with gift wrapping and turkey.
September is a gift. It's like a beautiful pre-new year time that nudges and asks...
Is your year FEELING how you wanted it to feel?
So, is it?
And if it's not, what steps can you do to help that feeling line up?
From deep breathing at traffic lights or taking a few moments at night to adjust your focus, to stretches, more fruit less cake, or timers on your FB scrolls...
there's always little changes you can put in place that feel better.

I have this image of you, sitting in your pjs with your family at the holiday season.
You are feeling satisfied... proud of yourself for the steps you've taken.
You hear your kids, they hear you. I mean REAL LISTENING.
You feel present and in your skin. You dance in the kitchen. You smile at small things.
Even when chaos is around you, there's a sense of inner calm.
You feel in flow. And that's how your 2020 should start.
So, let's put it in place... NOW.
Write something about yourself. No need to be fancy, just an overview.
